Night Auditor Job Description

The Night Auditor is responsible for conducting all nightly audit-related duties while providing guest service at the hotel's front desk. Responsibilities include balancing duties, managing daily paperwork, and preparing shift reports. During these duties, the Night Auditor will also attend to guest needs such as check-in/check-out, reservations, and answering questions.

Key Responsibilities

1. Proactively ensure guest security and maintain a safe, clean, and friendly work environment.
2. Count cash and maintain the accuracy of the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift.
3. Check the front desk log for issues and special requests.
4. Greet guests, register them, and assign rooms.
5. Process guest registrations and payments.
6. Prepare express checkout folios.
7. Maintain room status inventory.
8. Communicate shift information to the Front Office Manager, General Manager, and desk staff.
9. Maintain cleanliness of the lobby and bathrooms as needed.
10. Ensure a smooth transition between shifts by communicating pertinent information.
11. Collaborate with hotel departments to ensure high-quality customer service.
12. Answer inquiries about hotel services, registration, and local amenities.
13. Complete all required shift paperwork and night audit reports daily.
14. Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
