Job summary

Methodist Mansfield Medical Center is seeking a Special Care Nursery Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to support NICU and general patient care in a 12-hour night shift. Qualifications

• NICU/Special Care Nursery experience required.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certification required.
• NRP, Pediatric Advanced Life Support — must obtain within 1 year of hire.
• Texas Medical Board license in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (RRT).
• At least 6 months respiratory care experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform respiratory therapeutics including oxygen, airway management, bronchial hygiene and mechanical ventilation.
• Conduct arterial blood gas analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function studies and ECGs.
• Prepare treatment evaluations with bedside assessments and medical record reviews.
• Use critical thinking to determine appropriate actions.
• Interpret CXR, ABG and PFT data.
• Assemble and troubleshoot cardiopulmonary equipment and devices.
• Participate in infection control, safety and quality assurance tasks.
• Maintain and clean equipment and work areas.
• Utilize patient scripting to improve satisfaction.
