Methodist Mansfield Medical Center seeks a Special Care Nursery Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide a range of respiratory therapies for adults and neonates. You will operate and troubleshoot ventilators and related equipment, perform ABG and PFT analyses, and participate in safety and infection-control programs.

The role requires NICU experience, current BLS/ACLS, and NBRC and Texas licensure, with NRP to be completed within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Must have NICU / Special Care Nursery experience.
• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.
• Current Basic Life Support certification required.
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification required.
• NRP must be obtained within 1 year of hire.
• Texas license in good standing as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
• Registered Respiratory Therapist with NBRC.
• At least 6 months of respiratory care experience.

Responsabilités

• Performs respiratory therapies including oxygen administration and weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, Incentive Spirometry, airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy, CPR and mechanical ventilation.
• Performs and reports prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures: ABG, pulse oximetry, PFTs, ECGs.
• Prepares a treatment evaluation including bedside assessment, patient interview and medical record review.
• Use critical thinking to determine appropriate actions.
• Interprets chest X-ray, ABG and PFT data when reviewing patient information.
• Assembles, checks, operates and troubleshoots CP equipment (ventilators, oxygen analyzers, delivery devices, gas analyzers).
• Participates in infection control, safety and quality assurance tasks.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance of CP equipment and work areas.
• Uses appropriate patient scripting to improve satisfaction.
• Performs other duties as required.
