Qualifications

• Graduate of Accredited School of Nursing, BSN preferred.
• Current licensure in California as a Registered Nurse.
• National RN Certification preferred.
• Current BCLS required.
• Current NRP required.
• Minimum one year of recent NICU experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assess patients initially on admission to the unit and continually according to patient needs, condition change, or unit/department standards.
• Advocate for patient/family/SO regarding decisions affecting the Plan of Care.
• Develop, implement, and modify the patient’s plan of care according to the patient’s progress.
• Demonstrate knowledge of disease processes and related treatments and responses by age and condition.
• Review physician orders and accurately transcribe to MAR; initiate STAT orders as needed.
• Coordinate transfer or discharge planning with the health care team and family/SO.
