Job summary

Summit Fire & Security in Bend, OR is seeking Inspectors to inspect, test, and maintain fire sprinkler systems, pumps, and backflows with minimal supervision. A NICET certification is required for this role.

The position involves on-site inspections, reporting deficiencies, coordinating with customers and field technicians, and occasional on-call work to meet project schedules. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally are necessary.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent, required.
• NICET and/or state required certification required based on location, preferred.
• 3-5 years' experience inspecting fire protection systems required. 5+ years' experience preferred.
• Must be able to work alone and as part of a team.
• Basic math skills, mechanical aptitude, problem solving skills, customer service skills, decision making skills, ability to multitask, ability to meet project schedules, ability to plan and organize, troubleshooting skills, and the ability to train other is required.
• Must have ability to read and interpret blueprints and design drawings.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, and maintain fire protection systems in accordance with NFPA codes.
• Record and report deficiencies to SFS and Customers.
• Communicate with customers and offsite monitoring companies professionally.
• Use tools for inspection (detectors, backflow, pump equipment).
• Plan and complete inspections as scheduled.
• Be on-call as required by location for emergencies and inspections.
