Job summary

State of Maine seeks a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Coordinator to support the NG9-1-1 system. You will maintain GIS layers, verify address and road data, and train staff on addressing procedures and the maintenance request system.

You will collaborate with state, county, and municipal officials on standards and data sharing, with hybrid work options in Augusta, ME. A valid driver’s license and GIS proficiency are required.

Qualifications

• Three-year combination of education, training, and/or experience related to GIS operations.
• Knowledge of Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise Portal.
• Knowledge of data sources, maps, and coordinate systems.
• Ability to digitize and transfer data from maps to GIS.
• Strong communication and writing skills; effective in training and outreach.

Responsibilities

• Update roads and addresses using aerial photos and GPS data.
• Perform QA/QC on 9-1-1 GIS layers and ensure accuracy.
• Provide training on the online maintenance request system and addressing procedures.
• Coordinate with state, county, and municipal officials on standards.
• Expand GIS data sources through outreach to partners.
