Job summary

The Maine Public Utilities Commission's Emergency Services Communications Bureau seeks a GIS Coordinator in Augusta to maintain NG9-1-1 GIS layers and support addressing procedures. You will work with municipal officers to keep roads and addresses current and provide training on the maintenance system.

Ideal candidates will have strong ArcGIS skills, data management experience, and the ability to communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders while contributing to a critical public safety

Qualifications

Three-year combination of education, training, and/or experience related to GIS operations.
Knowledge of Esri products ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Enterprise Portal.
Ability to transfer data from maps by digitizing and maintain GIS layers.
Strong communication and ability to write clearly.

Responsibilities

Update roads and addresses using aerial photography and GPS data.
Perform QA/QC on 9-1-1 GIS layers and address standards.
Consult with state, county, and municipal officials on road naming and numbering.
Provide training on the online maintenance request system and addressing procedures.
