Newport Aquarium Food and Beverage - Cafe Host

Join us as a Cafe Host at Newport Aquarium. This role involves providing excellent guest service, maintaining safety standards, and supporting food and beverage operations.

Responsibilities

• Implement and adhere to all core values, guest experience standards, policies, procedures, and safety protocols.
• Maintain a positive attitude and appearance, approach guests in a friendly manner, and offer assistance and information about the Aquarium.
• Arrive on time, prepared for scheduled shifts, and comply with uniform standards.
• Prioritize safety at all times while working.
• Work independently with motivation, discipline, and reliability.
• Maintain positive relations with guests and team members, ensuring satisfaction.
• Keep store cleanliness in line with food safety guidelines.
• Handle cash properly and maintain PCI compliance.
• Cross-train in other food and beverage areas as needed.
• Contribute to a satisfying, energetic work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with cash handling and POS systems is a plus.
• Strong communication skills; proficiency in English required, additional languages are a plus.
• Ability to react calmly under stress and think clearly.
• Previous guest service, food industry, or retail experience preferred.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• Successful background check.
• Physical ability to stand long periods, ascend/descend stairs, and lift up to 25 pounds.
