  • Perform, adhere to, and implement all Herschend Enterprises' Core Values and Newport Aquarium Guest Service Standards, Policies and Procedures, and Safety Protocols to ensure safe and efficient guest service operations.
  • Maintain knowledge of activities, aquatic life, and Newport Aquarium special events/promotions to properly notify and inform guests.
  • Must be self-motivated to work independently, disciplined, and reliable.
  • Maintain appropriate guest and team member relations at all times, ensuring guest and team satisfaction.
  • Demonstrate strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Responsible for maintaining store cleanliness according to food safety guidelines.
  • Responsible for proper cash handling and PCI compliance.
  • Maintain a friendly, respectful, outgoing, and proactive approach to guests and team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Food and Beverage management.
  • Cross-train in other Food and Beverage areas, e.g., Cafe.
Description

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all company standards and safety protocols to ensure guest safety and satisfaction.
  • Stay informed about aquarium activities, aquatic life, and special events to assist guests effectively.
  • Work independently with motivation, discipline, and reliability.
  • Maintain positive relations with guests and team members.
  • Provide excellent customer service and interpersonal interactions.
  • Keep store clean following food safety standards.
  • Handle cash properly and comply with PCI standards.
  • Be friendly, respectful, outgoing, and proactive.
  • Assist with additional duties and cross-training as needed.
Qualifications
  • Experience with cash handling and POS systems is a plus.
  • Strong public speaking skills; ability to read, write, and speak English; multilingual skills are a plus.
  • Ability to react calmly and quickly in stressful situations.
  • Guest service or retail experience preferred.
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, primarily weekdays.
Physical Requirements
  • Successful background check.
  • Ability to remain stationary, ascend/descend floors, bend, and reach.
  • Lift up to 25 pounds.

Note: Position involves exposure to nut allergens, weather, dust, and machinery; PPE may be required.
