Job summary

Behavioral Health Solutions is seeking qualified Advanced Psychiatric Practitioners (PMHNP, PA-C) to join our Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) Psychiatry team in Rhode Island. The role focuses on delivering comprehensive behavioral health care to the underserved geriatric population in Skilled Nursing and Long Term Care facilities in Newport, RI.

Qualifications

• Licensed in Rhode Island by the Board of Nursing in good standing with psychiatry focus.
• Licensed by the Rhode Island Board of Pharmacy to prescribe controlled substances (DEA).
• 1 year of Geriatric Psychiatry experience.
• 1 year of treatment in Skilled Nursing Facilities and/or Acute Rehab Hospitals.

Responsibilities

• Provide face-to-face psychiatric services to patients in Skilled Nursing Facilities.
• Assess mental status based on symptoms and diagnostic criteria.
• Diagnose DSM-V disorders and develop treatment plans.
• Apply psychopharmacology and non-pharmacological treatments as needed.
• Staff clinical cases with psychiatrists.

• Provide face-to-face psychiatric services to patients directly in Skilled Nursing Facilities.
• Assess the patient’s mental status based on symptoms.
• Appropriately diagnose DSM-V disorders and develop treatment plans.
• Apply appropriate medical decision-making skills for mental health issues including psychopharmacology options and non-pharmacological treatments.
• Staff clinical cases with psychiatrists.

Requirements

• Licensed in Rhode Island by the Board of Nursing in good standing with a focus in psychiatry.
• Licensed by the Rhode Island Board of Pharmacy in good standing to prescribe controlled substances (possession of a DEA)
• 1 year of Geri Psych Experience.
• 1 year providing treatment within Skilled Nursing Facilities and/or Acute Rehab Hospitals.
