Job summary

Pediatrix is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hearing screens in hospital settings, educate parents, and support early intervention efforts. The role is on-site at one or more hospital locations, including Miami Valley Hospital, with on-the-job training and annual American Academy of Audiology accredited certification.

Responsibilities include screening, data collection, and timely documentation, while ensuring patient care and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR Certification or must obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work weekends and national holidays.
• One to three months of previous experience with newborns and in a medical setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company and facility policies and procedures including PPE, required vaccinations and other safety/security protocols; raise questions to HS Manager as appropriate.
• Evaluate each patient for screen readiness prior to performing a screen; screen only if baby is in state to achieve reliable result.
• Collect data/demographics; perform the hearing screen and all screen-related services; ensure documentation protocol is followed.
• Treat each screened baby and family with care and consideration.
• Upload all screen results/billing/state reporting by end of each shift; ensure stats are complete and reconciled.
• Screen efficiently and follow processes to minimize time in the patient room while preserving quality and education.
• Provide parents with information about the necessity of the screen and next steps for results.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed and final refer babies.
• Schedule outpatient appointments for refer babies when appropriate; other duties as assigned.
