Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform on-site hearing screens for newborns in hospital settings and to educate families about early intervention. The role requires availability at Mount Sinai South Nassau and NYU Langone Long Island locations, with shifts starting at 7 AM and alternating weekends/holidays.

The technician will collect data, perform screens, ensure documentation, and upload results by end of shift.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Current CPR Certification or must obtain upon offer
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required

Responsibilities

• Comply with all company and facility policies and procedures including PPE, vaccinations, and safety protocols
• Evaluate patient for screen readiness before performing a screen
• Collect all data/demographics and perform the hearing screen for every eligible baby
• Provide education to parents on the importance of hearing screens and early intervention
• Upload screen results and state reporting by end of each shift and reconcile stats
• Limit time in patient room while maintaining quality and patient education
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed and referred babies
• Schedule outpatient appointments for referred babies as appropriate
• Perform screens efficiently following established processes
