Job summary

Pediatrix is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based hearing screens for newborns. You will receive on-the-job training with certification accredited by the American Academy of Audiology, helping improve early detection of hearing loss.

Work is on-site at hospital locations in Florida; you will screen newborns, educate families, and ensure accurate data entry and reporting. Flexibility for weekends and holidays is required, with a supportive team environment and

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays required.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and up to 50 pounds.
• Stand and walk frequently (95% of shift).
• Push/pull up to 100 pounds frequently.
• Demonstrate sensitivity when speaking to family and handling patients.
• Computer proficiency and data entry accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens and educate parents on screening relevance.
• Collect data and demographics for each baby; perform screens during each shift.
• Follow PPE, vaccinations and site compliance protocols; maintain documentation.
• Notify Site Supervisor of missed and refer babies and schedule outpatient appointments when needed.
• Upload screen results and state reporting by end of each shift.
