Job summary

Pediatrix is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform hospital-based newborn hearing screens and educate families on the importance of early detection. This on-site role supports multiple hospital locations and includes on-the-job training with annual American Academy of Audiology certification.

Responsibilities include collecting data, completing screens efficiently, and ensuring accurate reporting and parent education.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills essential.
• Confidentiality and privacy compliant in handling patient data.
• Ability to prioritize daily tasks and manage multiple screens.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to stand, walk frequently, and lift up to 50 pounds when needed.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens in hospital settings.
• Educate parents about the importance of early intervention.
• Collect patient data and ensure accurate documentation.
• Upload screen results and state reporting by shift end; reconcile stats as required.
• Schedule outpatient follow-up appointments for referred babies and coordinate with supervisors.
