Job summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a Newborn Hearing Screen Technician to perform on-site hearing screens in hospital settings. You will screen newborns, educate parents on the importance of early intervention, and ensure accurate data collection and reporting by end of each shift.

On-the-job training and annual American Academy of Audiology certification are provided to help ensure high-quality screening and timely follow-up for infants with hearing concerns.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current CPR certification or obtain upon offer.
• Flexibility to work on weekends and national holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform newborn hearing screens and educate parents on screening relevance.
• Assess screen readiness and screen only for reliable results.
• Collect baby data and complete documentation for each screen.
• Treat screened babies and families with care during development milestones.
• Upload results and billing data by end of each shift.
• Efficiently perform screens without compromising quality or education.
• Provide information to guardians about results and actions needed.
• Notify supervisor of missed and refer babies.
• Schedule outpatient appointments for referred babies.
