Job summary

Elliot Health System seeks an experienced coordinator to manage the new patient office, serving as the initial contact for patients, providers, and referring offices within the health system. The role requires handling referrals, coordinating with Epic EMR, and ensuring accurate patient information and scheduling.

Responsibilities include processing referrals, scheduling appointments, verifying demographics and coverage, and maintaining logs and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of medical office-related experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; Proficient in navigating Epic electronic medical records; Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Process all incoming referrals for new and existing patients and contact patients to schedule appointments.
• Assist potential new patients and referring offices with new patient processes, with a large volume of phone contact and electronic and/or faxed new patient information.
• Answer and/or screen all incoming calls/inquiries and direct elsewhere as appropriate.
• Verify demographics and coverage information, organize records, and complete new patient referral forms following department guidelines.
• Request prior medical records, testing, and referrals and ensure information is received prior to appointment.
• Track referrals at various stages and follow up on pending issues.
