Job summary

Elliot Health System is seeking an experienced medical office coordinator to independently manage the new patient office, serving as the first contact for patients and providers across the health system.

You will handle referrals, verify demographics and coverage, coordinate with departments, and ensure records are ready for appointments. This on-site role requires multitasking and strong organizational skills in a busy setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of medical office-related experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; proficient in navigating Epic electronic medical records.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational and communication skills necessary in all aspects of the new patient process.

Responsibilities

• Process all incoming referrals for new and existing patients and contact patients to schedule appointments.
• Assist potential new patients and referring offices with new patient processes with a high volume of phone contact and electronic or faxed information.
• Answer and screen all incoming calls and direct to appropriate parties.
• Obtain and verify demographics and coverage information, organize and complete new patient referral forms per guidelines.
• Request prior medical records and referrals and ensure information is received before appointments.
• Maintain logs/records to track production for the referral office.
