About Scholastic Book Fairs

Scholastic Book Fairs create engaging in-school book shopping experiences that promote literacy and community involvement. Each year, we host over 110,000 pop-up shops, raising funds and resources for schools while inspiring students to discover the joy of reading.

Position Overview

As a New Business Sales Representative, your goal will be to prospect and establish relationships with new school and district partners, helping to grow the Book Fairs program. Key Responsibilities
  1. Prospecting: Identify and reach out to potential school and district partners via calls, emails, and social media.
  2. Lead Qualification: Assess prospects' needs and interests, set appointments, and pass qualified leads to Account Managers.
  3. Relationship Building: Develop rapport with educators and administrators, emphasizing the benefits of Scholastic Book Fairs.
  4. Pipeline Management: Maintain accurate records of interactions and track progress toward sales goals.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with the sales team to refine outreach strategies and stay informed about industry trends.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, or related field.
  • At least 3 years of successful sales experience, preferably in retail, territory sales, or event management.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and CRM software.
  • Interest or experience in children’s literature and educational activities is a plus.
  • Strong communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.
