Job description

New Business Development Sales Executive

Location - Remote

TheNew Business Development Sales Executivewill focus on identifying and cultivating new business opportunities, managing relationships, and driving revenue by selling Farm Journal Media’s complete suite of solutions, including digital advertising, print media, custom content, events, and data-driven insights. The ideal candidate will have a passion for agriculture, strong sales acumen, and the ability to develop tailored solutions to meet client needs. This position will be responsible for generating new leads through outreach methods including cold calling, email campaigns, participation in trade shows.

This role involves conducting in person and virtual presentations of our products utilizing web tours and power point presentations to effectively demonstrate how our products can improve our clients’ reach. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential for success in this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
These duties include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Prospect, identify, and develop new business opportunities with clients in the agriculture and agribusiness sectors.
  • Sell the full suite of Farm Journal Media’s products and services, including digital and print advertising, content marketing, events, custom solutions, and data insights.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in the industry.
  • Conduct in-depth needs analysis with prospects to create customized solutions that align with their business objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and deliver proposals, presentations, and pricing models.
  • Achieve and exceed revenue targets by consistently closing new business deals.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and developments in agriculture and media to position Farm Journal as a leading partner.
  • Represent Farm Journal Media at industry events, trade shows, and conferences to promote the brand and generate leads.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities and forecasts using CRM and salesloft tools.

Skills/Professional Experience

  • Must have a minimum of 4 years of successful b2b sales experience, media marketing, agriculture, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management, within media, advertising, or agriculture industries.
  • Strong understanding of digital and print media, content marketing, and advertising strategies.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with the agriculture industry is a plus.
  • Proficient in CRM software, Zoom, PowerPoint and Microsoft.
  • Must be able to travel overnight and have a valid driver’s license – Travel expected 30%
