Job summary

St. Charles Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant in Bend, OR to support daily patient flow, triage information, and anticipate physician needs during patient care.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED; preferred is an accredited MA program and current MA certification. BLS is required; familiarity with ICD-10 and EMR systems is expected, with strong HIPAA compliance and patient service focus.

Qualifications

• Must have basic knowledge of ICD-10, CM/CPT/HCPCS coding conventions and procedures.
• Experience with medical practice management information systems.
• Knowledge of physician office documentation standards.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare for physician assessment.
• Record and maintain patient medical data in chart.
• Assist physicians with phone requests from patients and other professionals.
• Perform physician-requested ancillary and/or surgical procedures (excluding IV meds).
• Maintain equipment and supply inventory.
• Deliver safe, professional patient care and service.
• Support Lean principles and organizational values.
• Maintain HIPAA compliant environment.
• May perform additional duties of similar complexity as required.
