Job summary

St. Charles Health System is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient flow in our Bend, Oregon clinics. You will triage information for physicians, document patient data, and assist with calls from patients and other professionals.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with preference for an accredited MA program. A strong knowledge of ICD-10 coding and practice management systems is expected, along with HIPAA compliance and a willingness to travel within the system as needed.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma or GED.
• Preferred: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Must have basic knowledge of ICD-10, CM/CPT/HCPCS coding conventions.
• Working knowledge of medical practice management information systems.
• Must maintain HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare for physician assessment.
• Record and maintain patient data in the medical chart.
• Assist physician with phone requests from patients and other professionals.
• Perform physician-requested ancillary and/or surgical procedures (excluding IV meds).
• Maintain equipment and supplies inventory.
• Support the organization’s vision, mission and Lean initiatives.
