Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Full Time Medical Assistant for the Neurosurgery clinic at Lake Forest Hospital. Schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00am-4:30pm, 40 hours per week, helping physicians and nurses with patient flow and care tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, BLS certification, and 0–2 years of experience, with strong computer skills and EMR familiarity. Training on certifications will be provided as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• AAMA, AMT, NCCT, NHA, or NRCMA certifications pursued within 6 months.
• American Heart Association BLS/CPR certification required.
• Zero to two years of relevant experience.
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with EMR systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient patient flow by escorting patients and preparing for examinations.
• Assist with procedures such as ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, and specimen collection.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and inventory with proper disposal.
• Support clinicians and communicate effectively with the patient care team.
• Perform delegated duties and participate in staff meetings.
