Job summary

Northwestern Medicine’s Lake Forest Hospital Cancer Center seeks a full-time Medical Assistant to support physicians, nurses, and clinic operations. The role includes patient flow, room preparation, vital signs, and ancillary tasks across sites in Lake Forest and occasional travel to Glenview.

This position requires clinical and administrative duties, adherence to safety and confidentiality, BLS certification, and 0–2 years of experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Within six months, complete CMA/AMT/NCCT/CCMA etc certification from approved body.
• BLS/CPR certification required.
• 0–2 years of experience in a relevant role.
• Strong computer skills.
• Willingness to travel to Glenview clinic as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assures efficient patient flow and prepares exam rooms.
• Assists with ECG, venipuncture, immunizations, and CLIA waived testing as directed.
• Keeps exam rooms stocked and disinfected; maintains inventory.
• Interacts with patients professionally to support satisfaction and confidentiality.
• Performs delegated procedures as assigned by supervisor/manager.
• Follows opening/closing procedures and safety guidelines.
