Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• Two years of medical clerical experience preferred, ideally in hospital scheduling or physician office setting.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of payor contract terms and processes.
• Excellent organizational, human relations, and communication skills.
• Strong teamwork and ability to meet deadlines.
• Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheets; ability to use computerized scheduling systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate case times for elective, urgent, or emergent surgeries using a computerized scheduling system.
• Enter physician orders, patient charges, and other pertinent information; compile statistical reports for management.
• Act as office liaison for department staff, physicians and patient families; answer phones and greet patients and visitors.
• Enter facility work orders and supply orders; arrange repairs and maintenance as needed.
