Job summary

Banner Health is seeking a Surgery Scheduler to join the high-volume Neuroscience Institute clinic. The role focuses on scheduling surgical, cardiovascular, or obstetrical procedures in a computerized system, entering orders, and supporting patient and staff needs.

You will coordinate case times, verify privileges, process authorizations, and assist as a liaison among nursing units, physicians, and families.

Qualifications

High school diploma/GED required; 2 years medical clerical experience preferred.
Knowledge of medical terminology and payor contract terms.
Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to work under pressure.
Proficient in word processing and spreadsheets; experience with scheduling systems.

Responsibilities

Coordinate case times for elective, urgent or emergent surgeries using a computerized scheduling system.
Enter physician orders, lab results, and patient charges; maintain templates.
Schedule physician block time and releases; manage scheduling workflows.
Assist with patient reception, directions, and information dissemination to staff and families.
Enter facility and supply orders; ensure accuracy of data for management reporting.
Maintain confidentiality of all information and liaise with multiple departments.
