Job summary

Capital Health's Institute for Neurosciences in Princeton, NJ is seeking a Medical Assistant I for full-time day shift. You will prepare patients for exams, take vital signs, collect specimens, perform ECGs, and support physicians and front office staff in a busy neurology setting.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited medical assisting program with 330 clock hours, plus active certification and BLS.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary medical assisting program accredited by NHA/CAHEA/ABHES or equivalent with 330 clock hours.
• Maintain current certification from AAMA/NCCT/AMCA/NAHP/NCMA/AMT or other recognized certifying body.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination with basic vital signs and history.
• Assist physicians and staff; prepare exam rooms and collect specimens.
• Conduct electrocardiograms and point-of-care tests per policy.
• Handle clerical duties: registration, phones, scheduling, and medical records.
• Support front office tasks including discharge paperwork and referrals.
• Cross-train for Patient Reception Rep duties as needed.
• Comply with NJPMP monitoring requirements and injections per policy.
• Maintain supplies, organize records, and ensure accurate documentation.
