Job summary

Capital Health in New Jersey seeks a Medical Assistant to prepare patients for examination, take vitals and collect specimens. You will support physicians, manage rooms and supplies, and handle basic clerical duties in a fast-paced environment.

Required is a high school diploma or equivalent, a licensed medical assisting program, and current BLS. The role offers comprehensive benefits and a 40-hour work week at Capital Health facilities.

Qualifications

• Education aligned with accredited medical assisting programs (330 clock hours).
• Current certification from a recognized medical assisting board.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer/data entry skills.
• AHA BLS certification and ability to multitask in clinical and clerical duties.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams and perform preliminary vital signs and tests.
• Assist clinicians, prepare exam rooms and manage supplies.
• Register patients, schedule appointments and file medical records electronically.
• Perform ECGs and point-of-care testing per policy and safety rules.
• Coordinate with front office and maintain discharge paperwork, referrals and education.
