Job summary

Qualifications

• Active AHIMA or AAPC credential required (RHIA/RHIT/CCS/CCA or CPC/CCS-P/COC)
• Minimum two years of hands-on coding experience
• Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS coding sets
• Ability to code at 95% accuracy in line with client standards
• Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Outlook, Word)
• Experience with RCx, Cerner or NextGen is a plus

Responsibilities

• Select and sequence ICD-10 and CPT/HCPCS codes for designated patient types
• Review facility records to ensure accurate APC and E/M coding
• Abstract clinical data to support diagnoses and procedures
• Maintain data confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines
• Participate in client meetings, trainings, and calls and ongoing education
