Capital Health is seeking a patient-facing receptionist to support front desk operations at our medical facilities in Oregon. The role includes answering phones, scheduling appointments, and collecting relevant patient information and payments, all while upholding privacy and regulatory guidelines.

The candidate will greet patients, verify demographics and insurance data, and coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth patient flow and timely care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year experience as receptionist or clerk in healthcare environment or 1 year customer service experience.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, ICD-10 and CPT codes.
• Proficient computer skills; basic Microsoft Office; familiarity with Excel.

Responsibilities

• Answers telephones promptly and courteously, routing calls to appropriate area.
• Schedules and cancels appointments; schedules patients for tests and surgeries.
• Prepares for day, reviews eligibility and phone reports, and prepares new patient charts.
• Greets patients and visitors; informs about privacy policies and delays in schedules.
• Obtains insurance cards and referrals; enters information into the system.
• Collects co-pays and balances; refers patients to staff for past due balances.
