Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is hiring a Medical Assistant for the Neurology specialty clinic. The role is full-time, Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm, 40 hours per week, with a pay range of $21.85 to $32.80 per hour.

You will perform patient intake, vital signs, labs, vaccinations, and assist physicians in procedures. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent military clinical training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent military clinical training.
• Knowledge of electronic medical records systems and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies and procedures.
• Performs rooming tasks: vital signs, med reconciliation, history, health maintenance, allergies.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, CLIA waivers.
• Administers medications and vaccines following safety protocols.
• Handles referrals, scheduling, and insurance authorizations.
• Cross trained to support other clinic duties within scope.
• Maintains clean, stocked work area and proper equipment function.
• Delivers age-appropriate patient care and effective communication.
