Job summary

Advocate Health in North Carolina is seeking a Medical Assistant to support Neurology at the High Point campus. It is a full-time, 40-hour-week role with Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm hours.

The MA will perform rooming tasks, vital signs, histories, screenings, venipuncture, CLIA-waived tests, and assist providers with procedures. Requirements include graduation from an accredited MA program, current BLS, and Atrium Health competency assessment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program required.
• Current AHA BLS certification required.
• PEARS may be required within 1 year in select areas.
• Atrium Health’s competency assessment must be completed.
• Demonstrates professional practice advancement through governance, safety, or vaccine coordination.
• Achieves 6 points from the list of additional market responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies and procedures.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vitals, history, screenings, medication reconciliation.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs venipuncture, specimen collection, and CLIA-waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Handles duties such as refills, authorizations, scheduling, and referrals.
• Maintains clean, stocked work environment and participates in training.
