Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Greater Charlotte area. The role supports internal medicine clinics with rooming patients, vitals, medication reconciliation, screenings, and lab duties while assisting providers with procedures and maintaining CLIA standards.

Strong communication and computer skills are essential. The position is full-time, 40 hours per week, with typical schedule Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient computer skills including keyboarding and EMR systems.
• Ability to perform routine and complex medical assistant tasks.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to Medical Assistant scope of practice and follows policies.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks including vitals, med reconciliation, and screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered and conducts lab duties per CLIA.
• Administers medications and vaccines per rights of administration.
• Manages tasks like scheduling, referrals, and insurance authorizations.
• Maintains equipment, cleanliness, and patient safety; supports age-appropriate care.
