Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Medical Assistant for the Neurology Specialty Clinic Edgehill. This full-time role offers 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm, and a pay range of $21.85–$32.80 per hour.

The position requires a High School diploma or GED, completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, and BLS certification. Responsibilities include patient rooming, vital signs, lab duties, medication administration, and coordinating referrals.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Ability to perform routine and complex clinical tasks within MA scope.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for patient care.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to MA scope of practice and follows all policies and procedures.
• Performs rooming/visit tasks: vitals, medication reconciliation, medical history, screenings.
• Assists provider with procedures as ordered.
• Performs lab duties: venipuncture, specimen handling, POCT, CLIA-waived tests.
• Administers medications and vaccines safetly.
• Handles referrals, insurance authorizations, and appointment scheduling.
• Cross-trained to support department needs.
• Maintains clean, organized work environment and equipment.
