Job summary

Advocate Health Care in Charlotte, NC is seeking a full-time Medical Assistant to support Neurosurgery clinic operations. You will perform patient intake, vital signs, medication reconciliation, and preparation for procedures, under provider supervision.

Responsibilities include POCT, phlebotomy basics, lab specimen handling, and accurate documentation in the EMR. Excellent communication, teamwork, and adherence to safety protocols are essential for patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required for multiple sites.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent.
• AHA BLS certification as specified per division.

Responsibilities

• Rooming/visit tasks: vital signs, history, screenings and medication reconciliation.
• Assist provider with procedures and performance of POCT and labs.
• Venipuncture, specimen labeling and requisitions; results tracking.
• Administer medications and vaccines following rights of administration.
• Maintain clean work environment and ensure supplies are stocked.
