Stony Brook University Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (T/TRC) for the Neuro ICR Stroke Unit on a full-time night shift. The RN will provide direct patient care, administer medications, develop and implement care plans, and collaborate with the care team to support stroke patients.

Required NYS RN license; Bachelor's in Nursing preferred with at least one year of acute hospital experience, plus stroke care experience and ICR experience.

Competenze

• Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and at least one year of previous hospital acute care experience.
• Experience caring for stroke patients and one year ICR experience.
• Only licensed nurse experience in an acute care facility will be counted towards RN1 experience.
• Acute care is defined as medical services provided for illnesses that are short-term, intense, and require vigilant monitoring.

• Assess the patient’s condition and plan nursing care.
• Develop an individualized care plan including discharge planning.
• Administer direct care and medications.
• Practice infection control and maintain a safe environment.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to the Charge RN/Clinician.
• Maintain written plan of care and patient education records.
• Collaborate with other staff and departments.
• Participate in quality assurance activities related to nursing care.
