Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine in Stony Brook, NY seeks a Registered Nurse (T&R C) for the Neuro ICR Stroke Unit on a full-time night shift. The RN provides direct patient care, develops care plans, administers medications, and coordinates with a multidisciplinary team to support recovery.

Qualifications

• Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred; at least one year of acute hospital experience recommended.
• Only licensed nurse experience in an acute care facility will be counted toward RN1 experience.

Responsibilities

• Assess patient condition and nursing needs; coordinate care with other disciplines.
• Develop written individualized care plans including discharge planning.
• Administer direct patient care and medications as needed.
• Maintain infection control and a safe environment.
• Communicate changes in patient condition to RN/Clinician.
