Job summary

Centre For Neuro Skills in Emeryville, CA seeks a full-time Staff Counselor to provide therapy and guidance to patients and families as part of total patient care. The role is Monday–Friday 7:30am–4:30pm, with occasional weekend or night work, primarily at the clinic with some community or residential site duties.

The ideal candidate holds a Master’s Degree and state licensure in a relevant field (e.g., Marriage and Family Therapy, Licensed Professional Counseling, Rehabilitation Counseling,

Qualifications

• Master's Degree with appropriate state licensure in a related field is required.
• 2 years of experience in acute care or rehabilitation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides counseling and guidance to patients and family members as part of total patient care.
• Tests and evaluates patients focusing on adjustment to disability, self-worth, motivation, and social behavior.
• Sets counseling goals and plans, develops and implements an individual treatment program for each patient, and revises as needed.
• Assists patients' families with the adjustment process and involves them in family therapy.
• Performs reporting procedures.
