Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks a System Engineer II, Network to support its academic, research, and healthcare missions. This role handles complex network issues, documents processes, and collaborates on projects to enhance efficiency and reliability.

Under supervision, you will work with firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, and monitoring tools, while delivering strong customer service and cross-functional teamwork.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma and six years directly related experience; or a bachelor’s degree and two years directly related experience required; or a Masters’ Degree in a related field.
• Four years of Network experience is preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, analytical, customer service and communication skills required.
• Experience in implementing, administering, and troubleshooting network infrastructure devices, including: firewalls, routers, switches, wireless access points, controllers and monitoring applications.
• Knowledge of communication or information systems, voice and data networking operations.
• Knowledge and technical expertise in networking protocols, security, and wireless communications.

Responsibilities

• Support network services and resolve complex technical issues.
• Assist in documentation, communications, processes, and plans related to network design, management, implementation, and operations.
• Participate in team and project meetings and provide input on solutions to improve efficiency.
• Transfer knowledge to peers and staff; maintain professional standards and customer service.
