Job summary

NexGen Networks in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a Network Technician to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues for global customers, install and test equipment, open and manage support tickets, and provide expert guidance on optimal network setup.

The role covers MAN/WAN support, field dispatch, and 24/7 on-call rotations. Requires a Bachelor’s degree (or progress toward one) and experience with Cisco/Juniper/Ciena gear; MCP is a plus. Driver’s license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or working towards this).
• Experience with Level Two technical desktop and network support in a large multi-platform environment or MCP certification.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, Routing, WAN/LAN/MAN Switching using Cisco equipment.

Responsibilities

• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve hardware-, software- and network-related problems for business customers.
• Configure, test and install network equipment (e.g., Cisco).
• Perform basic network system administration on network servers as needed.
• Install, certify and troubleshoot network cabling infrastructure and telecom equipment.
