Overview
Network Operations Center Technician role supporting Fortune 100 healthcare monitoring teams. Provide Level 1 to Level 1.5 monitoring, incident detection, analysis, and escalation for enterprise networks, applications, and systems in both remote and on-premises data center environments.
Responsibilities
- Provide “Eyes on Glass” monitoring and first-response support for enterprise applications, networks, and systems.
- Use monitoring platforms (e.g., Dynatrace, SolarWinds, Splunk, ThousandEyes, ServiceNow) to detect and respond to events and anomalies.
- Triage incidents per SOPs, working toward resolution or escalation with clear documentation.
- Initiate and manage incident response processes, including hosting technical bridges and engaging appropriate support teams via PagerDuty.
- Monitor MS Teams channels to stay informed and report on real-time issues.
- Perform basic infrastructure tasks (IIS resets, application pool recycles, load balancing updates, log analysis, server reboots, etc.).
- Deliver hands-on operational support across Windows and Linux environments (software installations, NetScaler changes, event log/data capture).
- Collaborate with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) and development teams to support application performance and availability.
- Document incidents, actions taken, and resolutions in ServiceNow to ensure knowledge transfer and process transparency.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of monitoring capabilities and incident response procedures.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year of experience in a NOC, data center, or IT operations monitoring environment.
- Familiarity with monitoring and alerting tools such as Dynatrace, SolarWinds, Splunk, and ThousandEyes.
- Working knowledge of Windows and Linux server environments.
- Basic troubleshooting experience with web infrastructure components (IIS, load balancers, app pools).
- Experience with ITSM tools like ServiceNow and incident management tools like PagerDuty.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage issues in a high-pressure environment.
- Willingness to work in a 24/7 operational support environment, including weekends and holidays as part of a rotating shift schedule.
Preferred Qualifications
- Exposure to DevOps or Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
- Familiarity with network fundamentals and troubleshooting tools.
- ITIL Foundation certification or similar is a plus.
Work Schedule
- Night shift: Week 1 — Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, 6pm–6am. Weekly schedule rotates between these two patterns.
