Job summary

Okta seeks a Network Operations Engineer to own the full operational lifecycle, SLOs, and availability for network services within the TDI Network Engineering team. You will write production-quality code to automate tasks and design tooling to reduce toil, working with Workplace, Security, and other teams to keep the global network reliable and secure.

This role requires 2+ years of professional experience, a Bachelor’s degree, and strong networking knowledge (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, ACLs,

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience in a professional network/engineering role.
• Strong coding skills to automate repetitive tasks and reduce toil.
• Solid understanding of core networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, ACLs, routing, firewall policies).
• Experience with network device monitoring, alerting, and logging tools.
• Ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across teams during incidents.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full operational lifecycle, SLOs, and availability for network services.
• Design and develop new automation and tooling to eliminate toil and improve efficiency.
• Collaborate with Workplace, TDI Teams, Security, and other stakeholders to resolve incidents.
• Maintain fleet-wide consistency across software, configuration, and security.
• Participate in an on-call rotation and translate engineering impacts to non-technical stakeholders.
