Job summary

Okta is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer for the TCore team. You will design and maintain scalable, highly available network infrastructure, focusing on reliability, performance, and security of Okta's core services.

You will drive automation and data‑driven improvements across cloud networks. The role requires deep expertise in TCP/IP, VPC design, and cross‑cloud networking, plus hands‑on experience with Terraform, Ansible, and scripting.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in a cloud network engineering role or related field.
• Extensive understanding of TCP/IP networking and VPC networking, with inter‑VPC connectivity.
• Experience with AWS/GCP networking concepts: Transit Gateway, NCC, VPNs, Direct Connect.
• Experience troubleshooting using VPC Flow Logs and monitoring logs.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet or similar automation tools.
• Scripting skills: Bash, Python, Go, and Git.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, reliable network solutions with cross‑team collaboration.
• Maintain a highly available cloud infrastructure edge for Okta's identity platform.
• Collect and analyze data to identify root causes for network events.
• Automate AWS infrastructure using Terraform and/or Chef.
• Evolve the system to improve efficiency, scalability, and velocity.
