Job summary

Vertiv (ERS / HVM) is seeking a Field Engineer - Electrical Testing (NETA III/IV) in the United States. This role involves up to 75% travel regionally and nationally, performing acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on high voltage systems up to 500kV.

Annual compensation can be substantial with base up to $110/hour, bonuses, and a comprehensive benefits package. Relay testing, report writing, and mentoring field technicians are key responsibilities.

Qualifications

NETA Level III or IV certification required.
7+ years hands-on electrical testing in medium/high voltage environments.
Knowledge of NETA MTS/ATS standards.
Proficiency with test equipment (Doble, Megger, Omicron, Dranetz, SKF).
Ability to read/interpret electrical diagrams and P&IDs.

Responsibilities

Perform acceptance, commissioning, and maintenance testing on electrical power systems up to 500kV.
Conduct power system studies: short circuit, coordination, arc flash, power quality analysis.
Test and calibrate protective relays (electromechanical, solid-state, microprocessor).
Interpret test results; write engineering reports with findings/recommendations.
Troubleshoot complex failures under time-critical conditions.
Mentor/train Level I/II technicians in the field.
Lead technical aspects on multi-discipline project teams.
Maintain compliance with NETA MTS/ATS, NFPA 70E, OSHA.
