Job summary

Shermco Industries, Inc. is seeking a NETA Field Service Technician to deliver electrical power system testing, maintenance, and repair at customer sites across the region.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in Electrical Power & Controls or Electrical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• NETA Certification (II/III/IV) or Electrician license preferred.
• 5+ years experience in switchgear testing & troubleshooting.
• Good PC skills: email, internet, data entry; Excel; PowerDB a plus.
• Ability to travel locally/regionally and pass background/drug tests.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites (industrial & commercial) to inspect, test, troubleshoot, start-up and collect data on HV systems (480 V to 600 kV).
• Perform instrument transformer tests and power transformer testing (Doble, TTR, insulation resistance).
• Test both electro-mechanical and solid-state relays when proficient.
• Conduct cable tests (Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot) and ATS troubleshooting.
• Perform low, medium and high voltage switchgear and circuit breaker testing.
• Handle emergency on-call duties and respond to customer emergencies promptly.
