Job summary

Shermco Industries is seeking a Field Service Technician - Electrical Testing to perform electrical testing, maintenance, and repair on distribution systems at customer sites. The role requires safe work practices and high-quality service.

You will travel locally/regionally, test transformers and switchgear, and use equipment such as Doble, TTR, Insulation Resistance, Tan Delta, and VLF. Strong safety and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have NETA Certification (I, II, III or IV) or similar desirable.
• At least 2 years of experience performing switchgear testing & troubleshooting.
• Able to drive locally/regionally and travel periodically overnight.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to inspect, test, troubleshoot and collect data on LV–HV systems.
• Perform instrument transformer tests and power transformer testing (Doble, TTR, Insulation Resistance, etc.).
• Test electromechanical and solid state relays; conduct cable testing (Tan Delta, Power Factor, VLF, DC Hipot).
• Troubleshoot ATS, LV/MV switchgear and circuit breakers; calibrate relays and meter power.
