Job summary

Shermco Industries, Inc. is seeking a Field Service Technician - Electrical Testing to perform electrical testing, maintenance, and repair on distribution systems.

The role involves traveling to customer sites, inspecting and collecting data on HV/LV equipment, and ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The candidate should have a technical degree or military training in EPC/EE, with 2+ years of switchgear testing experience.

Qualifications

• Must have driving ability and be available for local/regionally travel.
• Must adhere to electrical safety procedures and have good PC skills (email, data entry, Excel).
• NETA Certification (I/II/III/IV) or similar is preferred; 2+ years switchgear testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites (industrial & commercial) to inspect, test, troubleshoot, start-up and collect data on LV– HV electrical systems.
• Conduct instrument transformer tests, power transformer testing (Doble, TTR, insulation tests).
• Test electro-mechanical and solid-state relays; perform cable tests (Tan Delta, PF, VLF, Hipot).
• Troubleshoot ATS and HV switchgear/circuit breakers; perform relay calibration and power metering.
• Rotate on-call duties and respond to emergencies promptly.
