Job summary

SMG System Medical Group in Charleston, WV, seeks an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) to provide neonatal, pediatric, and acute care services as part of an interdisciplinary team within the hospital setting.

The role requires NP or PA credentials with neonatal/critical care experience, applicable state licensure, and professional certifications. You will perform assessments, manage plans of care, and contribute to teaching and quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Certified in Neonatal/ACPNP/PCPNP or Family Nurse Practitioner.
• RN license in the state where services are provided or multi-state license via eNLC.
• APRN licensure in the adopting state for services rendered.
• NRP certification required within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, individualized neonatal care to patients and families across the inpatient setting.
• Perform clinical assessments, rounds, and daily management with appropriate diagnoses and treatment plans.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests within clinical guidelines and scope of practice.
• Develop, implement, and document care plans including discharge planning and education.
• Recognize urgent or complex clinical situations and initiate timely interventions.
• Collaborate effectively with patients, families, physicians, nursing staff, learners, and departments to ensure coordinated care.
• Document evaluations, plans, interventions, and outcomes in the medical record per standards.
• Serve as educator and resource for staff, students, and families.
• Participate in quality improvement and performance improvement activities.
• Support program development and interdisciplinary initiatives in neonatal care.
• Maintain clinical competence and complete required competencies.

Education

NCC neonatal NP/ACPNP/PCPNP/FNP certification

RN license in state or eNLC

APRN issued by state

NRP certification within 30 days of hire
