Job summary

SMG System Medical Group is seeking an Advanced Practice Professional to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care as part of an interdisciplinary team. The APP assesses, diagnoses, treats, and manages patients within their scope of practice and specialty.

Collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other professionals is essential to promote positive outcomes. The role requires a Master’s in Nursing, WV licensure/eligibility, national APRN certification, and BLS with ALS/ACLS as needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CCNE-accredited nursing program with a Master’s Degree in Nursing.
• National Certification by one of the recognized APRN Certification Centers.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a professional Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in West Virginia.
• Basic Life Support Certification required with additional Advanced Life Support (ALS)/Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) training as required by the department.

Responsibilities

• Administers or orders diagnostic tests (e.g., x-ray, POClab).
• Examines patients to obtain information about their physical condition.
• Instructs and counsels patients about prescribed regimens and health maintenance.
• Interprets diagnostic test results for deviations from normal.
• Makes diagnosis and decisions about management and treatment of patients.
• Prescribes therapy or medication (electronically when available).
• Educates and coordinates activities with medical assistants during care.
