Qualifications

• NCC certification as specified for neonatal or pediatric APNs.
• RN license in the state where services are provided or multi-state license via eNLC.
• APRN license issued by the state of service.
• NRP certification within 30 days of hire.
• BLS certification completed as required by department.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, individualized care to neonatal patients and families across inpatient settings.
• Perform clinical assessments and daily management including rounds and consults.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests within approved guidelines.
• Develop, implement and document individualized plans of care and discharge planning.
• Recognize urgent or complex clinical situations and initiate timely intervention.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, and staff to ensure coordinated care.
• Document evaluations and plans in the medical record per standards.
• Serve as educator and clinical resource for staff and learners.
• Participate in quality improvement and research to improve practice.
• Support program development and interdisciplinary initiatives.
• Maintain clinical competence and complete required competencies.
• Complete duties such as billing and reporting per organizational requirements.
