Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC is seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Care professional for mobile critical care transport. The role supports patients across ambulances, helicopters, and aircraft, providing advanced airway and ventilator management and real-time clinical decision-making.

You will collaborate with Medical Control, apply extensive RT skills in ED/ICU settings, complete required certifications, and ensure safe transport logistics.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of respiratory care.
• Current RT license or temporary license as a registered petitioner in the working and residential state.
• BLS required.
• Three years clinical respiratory care experience in the ED and/or ICU required.

Responsibilities

• Collect data pertinent to the healthcare consumer's health or the situation.
• Use clinical reasoning to conduct accurate assessments and patient care interventions.
• Delegate elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers.
• Utilize resources to plan safe, effective, and financially responsible services.
• Participate in committees or facility decision making activities.
• Maintain knowledge of operational transport modes (ambulances, helicopters, airplanes).
• Initiate advanced practice procedures to improve patient outcomes as listed (e.g., intubation, airway management, pharmacologic titration).
• Operate airway support equipment and ventilator settings as required.
• Transports and monitors patients requiring advanced cardiac and circulatory support.
